About Cookie
Meet Cookie, a delightful 1-year and 3-month-old Tabby and White cat with a personality as sweet as her name. Cookie is a loving, down-to-earth companion who warms hearts with her gentle nature. Although she can be a bit timid at first, once she feels at home, she reveals her true, affectionate self.
Cookie's favorite pastime is curling up in her cozy little hiding spots, where she can quietly watch the world go by. She finds comfort in these safe havens, but she also enjoys the occasional peek out the window, keeping an eye on the neighborhood from her sunny perch. While she may be a little shy initially, Cookie quickly becomes a devoted friend, eager to share her love with those around her.
This sweet girl absolutely adores other cats and thrives in their company, making her an ideal fit for a home with feline friends. She's perfectly content with having a kitty companion but is also adaptable enough to be the only cat in the house. Cookie has lived with dogs before and got along well with them, often trying to playfully engage them in her own gentle way.
Cookie is okay with kids, and she doesn't mind being picked up and carried around once she's had time to adjust to her new environment. However, she would appreciate meeting the kids first to make sure everyone is comfortable. With her sweet disposition and gentle spirit, Cookie is sure to melt the hearts of everyone she meets, making her a cherished member of any family lucky enough to call her their own.
To book a meet and greet with Cookie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
