About Fig
Meet Fig,
Fig is gentle and friendly & suitable for first time owners.
Fig came in with Camilla (ID: 11369), Eleni (ID: 11371) & Denae (ID: 11370). All four cats were crammed into a cage & left abandoned. So it’s no wonder that they are all a little shy, nervous & wary of humans.
As she is sensitive to noise she is best suited to a calm & quiet home.
Fig is open to meet kids from 8 years & up, reason for this is simply because of her need for a quiet home. But apart from this, Fig loves to be picked up, carried & cuddled. She likes her back being patted & scratched and if you really want to make her happy she LOVEs having her cheeks, neck & chin scratched as she will roll over with content, exposing that glorious belly of hers.
Fig is not suitable to live with dogs.
Although Fig came in with other cats, she has taken a liking to having all attention & focus on her. While she tolerates other cats she seems to prefer the solo life where she can be the main star of the show.
Fig should be an indoor only cat. The outside world comes with many risks, such as her roaming, getting lost, injured or worse. Fig should be inside where she is safe.
Fig has low-range energy levels & she is not interested in any toys that we have offered her so far.
Fig is not a fussy girl, she loves any food that is offered to her. She also always uses her litter tray but had a few accidents at the start so it’s best to have a few trays around the house to minimise any accidents whilst she transitions into her new home.
Fig isn’t very vocal either but she does purr quite loudly!
Staff Comments: Fig is a sweetheart from the get go. She knew that she was with people who would help her and she lets us help her. She enjoys pats so much that she flops on her side & shows off her belly. She's very gentle and a very loving cat.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
