About Denae

Experienced owners
Must meet all family members
Calm & quiet home
Kids (10yrs+)
No dogs
Inside only
Meet Denae,
Denae came in with Eleni (ID: 11371). Both cats were crammed into a cage & left abandoned. So it’s no wonder that they are both a little shy. Denae is a sweet, sensitive girl best suited to experienced cat owners. Denae has a gorgeous curious streak about her, she is so inquisitive! Denae is also playful & social - she is eager to make friends & tries very hard to get your attention.
Denae is best suited to a calm & quiet home as she is sensitive to loud noises & big, loud movements.
Denae is open to meet kids from 10 years & up, or younger, providing that the kids are cat savvy. Despite being shy, Denae loves being patted & prefers slow strokes down her back. She now loves her cheeks being scratched too.
Denae is fine to be held for short periods of time but would much prefer to be on the ground where she can walk around.
Denae is not suitable to live with dogs.
Denae previously lived with cats and we can see that she loves to look at and chat to the other cats in the cattery. If you have existing cats at home it would be beneficial to both cats that they have a slow & gradual introduction.
Denea should be an indoor only cat. The outside world comes with many risks such as her roaming, getting lost, injured or worse. Denea should be inside where she is safe.
Denae has mid-range energy levels & she seems to be quite in love with feather wand toys & small plush toys. Unlike her friends, Denae is quite vocal, she will definitely have a chat & tell you about her days & what she likes.
Denae is not a fussy girl, she loves any food that is offered to her. Denae also uses her little tray without any issues but will need a deep walled litter tray or enclosed litter tray.
Staff Comments: Denae really wants your attention but she is still unsure about how to get it. She loves to see the other cats & spark up conversation. She loves to walk around the cattery, chatting to the other cats & will run back to smooch & rub up against your legs. Denae adores other cats but prefers friendly, calm cats - she not a rough & tumbler kind of girl - she is gentle & demure.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
