If you're wanting to give an older rescue dog a home, then please, consider Cornelia.

Cornelia's story is one that pulls on our heart strings, she was sadly surrendered to our shelter, along with one her pups, when her previous owner could no longer care for them.
When Cornelia first entered our care, she was very emaciated and quite unwell. She was off her food and for the first few days, she barely ate anything. Thankfully, Cornelia was looked after by our incredible vet team, who have nursed her back to health and she is now ready to leave our shelter and find her new forever home.

Cornelia has put on some weight here at the shelter, however her new family will need to continue to support her through this journey and assist her in getting back to the healthy weight range for her breed.

We unfortunately don't have much information on beautiful Cornelia before her time here at our shelter, however she did take some time to warm up and become comfortable and she has now made some wonderful friends at the shelter. Cornelia does seem to show some signs of uncertainty and nervousness around new people, so we strongly recommend that Cornelia's home consists of adults only (16+). It's very important that her new family do not immediately overwhelm her, and allow her time to warm up and get to know her new space. After Cornelia feels comfortable, she is the CUDDLIEST baby girl ever. She is so sweet and gentle and just adores snuggling up to her friends and giving kisses.

At 8 years of age, Cornelia is looking for a laid back and relaxed environment to spend her golden years. She would love for her new home to be comfy and cozy, with a big fluffy bed and most of all, parents that with give her all the love in the world.

Unfortunately here at the shelter, Cornelia has been quite uncomfortable around other dogs, so she needs to be the only dog in her home. In the future, it may be possible for Cornelia to make some doggy friends, but it's important that all introductions are SLOW and positive, to ensure that Cornelia is comfortable and feeling safe.

We absolutely ADORE this beautiful girl, and we just want her to know that life can be full of love and cuddles (and FOOD!). If you think you're ready to change this dog's life, please come and adopt her today.
