Smudge - 1.5 Year Old Domestic Short Hair

Smudge is a special little lady with unique quirks that make her truly one of a kind. She has a neurological idiosyncasy that sometimes makes her back legs a bit wobbly, but don’t let that fool you—this girl is overflowing with affection and ready to share her love with anyone who offers her care. While she may not be a lap cat, Smudge will almost turn herself inside out for a firm scritch, eagerly soaking up attention.

Her name suits her perfectly, thanks to the cute smudge of dark grey on her nose, as if she dipped it into a pot of leftover dye after they finished painting her shiny black fur. Stories like this help highlight how special she is, but they can also deflect from her endearing quirks. In Smudge's case, her quirks are what make her so irresistible.

While Smudge can get spooked if she’s caught off guard, she recovers quickly, often with a hilarious “Oh, it’s yooooouuuu!” reaction, reminding you she’s still figuring things out and is learning to trust the world around her. A calm, predictable home would suit her best—one without children under 5.

Her foster mum has been amazed at how well Smudge has adjusted to life with several other cats and older kids. One of her favourite things? Sitting at the computer, watching the mouse cursor dance across the screen. Of course, Smudge doesn’t mind if she blocks your view—she’ll happily flop down on the desk and might even “help” by adding some extra ch^%777aracters or help by clicking the mouse button! Eventually, she’ll settle in, making biscuits with your mouse hand, and you'll realise she's the most charming distraction.
