CARLOS IS SUCH A SPECIAL BOY! 🐾❤️
One of our rescue team members found this beautiful boy starving and covered in lice (check out the video to see when we found him). We were so lucky to have found him when we did—otherwise, he would’ve faced a slow and painful demise. 😢
Since coming into our care, Carlos has truly flourished. 🌸 He instantly trusted our love and has been such an affectionate and beautiful boy, despite his hardship. My husband always says Carlos is so calm, cruisy, and above all, so grateful that we stepped in to help him. He knew we were there to save him, and boy, are we glad we did! 🥰
Carlos absolutely adores humans, and he also likes being around other cats and dogs. He’s so happy being cared for and whenever you give him a pat or a belly rub, he’ll ask for more with those big, beautiful eyes of his. 😻
He’s a fabulous eater, and as mentioned, his eyes are just stunning. While we don’t know how much time Carlos has left, given his average heart and early kidney disease, with the right TLC, he’ll be an amazing addition to the perfect family. We’re committed to finding Carlos the best family ever! His care and well-being, including ongoing medication, is a lifetime commitment (see medical notes below). 💊❤️
Think of him like your grandpa—worth having around, loved by everyone, and just needing a few extra pills along the way. 🧓💕

Medical notes
Carlos has no teeth now, but a beautiful smile :). He now primarily eats wet food and softened dry food. He is such a pleasure to take care of!
The vet rated Carlos as having a 4/6 heart murmur and will need medications for the rest of his life that can be easily given to him with his food, he loves to eat. Whomever adopts him must be fully committed to giving him his meds full time.
Here is the information provided to us by the vet.
In August 2024, the month that Carlos was saved he was diagnosed with suspect hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and early kidney disease.
Whilst he was under anaesthesia, his lungs started to sound a bit crackly so the vet decided to start him on a diuretic to help reduce the fluids on his lungs and load on his heart.
The two medications that he will be for life will be and what Carlos's family will need to understand they will need to do for the rest of his precious life.
1. Forosedmide (a diuretic)
2. Clopriogrel - this helps prevent him from forming a clot in his bloodstream that could result in an embolism.
3. Monitoring his sleeping respiratory rate. It needs to be less than 30 bpm to feel confident that his heart failure is being managed properly.

Adoption details
Before adopting a new pet, ensure all family members understand that a pet is an emotional and financial commitment that you need to be prepared to love, house, and keep safe for the next 15 to 20 years. This means premium nutrition, preventative health care, regular veterinary check-ups, and keeping them inside or only having access to a cat-proof area or yard. Pet insurance with accident and illness cover gives you peace of mind knowing your pet can get the veterinary care they may need and you don’t have to worry about the expense.
We start by emailing you either our adoption questionnaire or the online link to it. We like to have a chat on the phone to obtain some details about who you are and what you’re looking for in a feline companion. We also request a video tour of your home with an emphasis on safety features including screens, windows, and balconies. We also like to see where your new kitty will eat and sleep. Once the online form has been completed, the next step is to organise a meet and greet. Depending on your location, we bring the feline/s to you or you can come and visit the kitty at his or her foster home.
