About Isla
Hi, my name is Isla, and I am a Miniature Dachshund, and I am 3 years and 6 months old
I came into care a few months ago from a breeder who wasn't the greatest and the rescue has worked really hard to show me that life is great, and people are lovely.
I can be a bit wary around new people for a moment or two when they meet but my foster mum and dad have been working with me showing me all the fun side of life and lots of love.
I currently live with a couple of dogs - frenchies and they have so helped bring out some of my confidence and they as well have taught me the art of snoozing in comfy spots - dog beds, couches, out on the back deck sunbaking etc etc.
Whilst every dog would say yes to having someone at home all the time, I can be left alone for periods as long as I have another furkid to keep me company and let me hang out with them and also snuggle!
If you are home being a work from home, stay home, retired, shift worker etc I will happily keep you company - following you around and supervising with my long nose when you do anything!
I also love a good a good lap to snuggle on.
When I came into care I was underweight and needed a bit of TLC - well my foster mum got to cooking and made me some yum food and treats
I have been around young kids while in rescue - I am fine with them but they can make me nervous if full of energy and sound. I can be unsure of them.
I am nervous when meeting new people so I do need a few minutes just to settle and get used them, but the rescue thinks as time goes by in my forever home that will lessen as I will be confident and settled.
I definitely gravitate more to females then men
I am toilet trained but may have an accident when first coming into a new home
My foster mum has said that i am like a typical dashie now on so many things and have been known to collect a sock or two if left lying around.
I like to bounce around like a dashie when you get home - I get so excited!
I am also doing this thing they call walks - doing well on the lead and can be adventurous but then also timid so sometimes i just need a moment to gain my confidence again.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
