About Camilla
Meet Camilla,
Camilla is best suited to experienced owners - someone who has owned cats before & understands their unique quirks & behaviours. Camilla is a nervous girl but she is also a curious girl - she likes to take in her surroundings and soak in the sights & sounds around her. Camilla is very gentle, and we feel that her shy, timid demeanour is a coping mechanism because she has shown us that she can be super affectionate but her confidence isn't quite there yet.
Camilla came in with Denae (ID: 11370), Eleni (ID: 11371) & Fig (ID: 11372). All four cats were crammed into a cage & left abandoned. So it’s no wonder that they are all a little shy, nervous & wary of humans.
Camilla is a tad sensitive to loud noises, and she is still working on her confidence, so she is best suited to a calm & quiet household. Camilla will need a patient & understanding home who will allow her to blossom in her own time.
Camilla is open to meet kids of any age providing that are understanding of her need for a safe haven and a quite home. At present she is not ready to be picked up or carried, preferring that all for paws are on the ground and she be given the chance to explore & come to you on her own terms.
Camilla is not suitable to live with dogs.
As for cats, we do know that Camilla previously lived with other cats, so we always recommended that any introductions to existing cats are slow & gradual.
As always, we recommend that cats be indoors only & Camilla is no exception. Being outside comes with risks such as Camilla running away, becoming lost, injured or worse - her timidity will only increase these risks.
Camilla has low-range energy levels & she is not interested in playing with toys - but in time she may learn to play. Camilla would love a cat tower with a hidey hole, so that she can continue to feel safe as she transitions to post-shelter life.
Camilla is not fussy with her food and will happily accept anything you offer her. She is also incredibly quiet in nature and she always uses her litter tray without any fuss - but you may need a few litter trays at the start until her transition into her new home is complete.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
