About Buddy
Hi, I’m Buddy, and I’m looking for my forever home. I’ve been in foster care for 720 days without a single meet-and-greet. Don’t get me wrong, my foster dad is awesome, and I love it here, but sometimes I feel sad wondering why no one wants me. I would really love to find a forever home and a family of my own.
I’d say I’m quite the catch. I’m well past the chaotic puppy phase, fun to hang out with, great with kids, and friendly with most dogs. I’m fully house-trained and toilet-trained, of course, since I’m a bit older, and for the record, I love a cuddle or two. Plus, I can’t deny I’m pretty handsome, if I do say so myself.
I’m probably best suited for children over 12 years old—not because I’m some vicious, crazy dog, but because I can be a bit of a boofhead and might accidentally knock over a smaller child. Plus, kids over 12 can play soccer with me, which is one of my favorite games. Oh, and there’s also tug of war and cricket, so many games we could enjoy after school!
I’d love a home where someone is around most of the time because I really enjoy being with people. A big, spacious yard would be perfect for me to run and do my zoomies. I get along with most dogs, but with my goofy, excitable personality, I’m better matched with medium or large ones since I might accidentally knock over a smaller dog. I haven’t met any cats yet, but my foster dad thinks I might be fine with slow introductions. While I’m better suited to older kids and bigger dogs, I have a pretty chilled temperament—it’s just my goofiness I worry about with smaller companions.
I love going places in the car, adventures, yes please! I’m your Buddy, and whether it’s a trip to the beach or a hike in the bush, it all sounds like fun. I enjoy my daily walks, but I apologize in advance, I still tend to pull on the leash. I just can’t help myself; there’s so much to see and do that I get a little overexcited. With some more leash training, I reckon I can learn that slower walks can be just as enjoyable or worst case, you’re getting a great arm workout, so you’re welcome.
If you think I might be a good fit for your family, please fill out the adoption application and come meet me. Who knows? I might just be the dog you never expected but end up becoming your lifelong companion.
