About Wilson
Introducing Wilson!
Wilson is a domestic medium hair born approx 18th February 2019.
Wilson was brought in as an unmicrochipped street cat. He was completely covered in scratches, scars and scabs so believe he was beaten up quite a bit in his previous life. We believe he has been someone's loved companion at some stage because he's incredibly affectionate and rubs all over you for attention.
Unfortunately when Wilson was at the vets being treated for his wounds, he tested positive for FIV. Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common and consequential infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans.
As this disease can be transferred to other cats via bodily fluids, he would only be suitable to live with other cats who also have FIV, or to be a spoilt "only child" at home. While we haven't tested him with other cats at this time, he gently meows to them and rubs along his cage when they walk by.
Wilson is a very sweet boy who loves having his back stroked while he's eating. He also enjoys a gentle scratch on his chubby little cheeks.
Wilson is litter trained and would make a wonderful addition to most families.
Wilson is such a gorgeous guy and given the condition he arrived in, he will be rehomed to a family who are willing to keep him as an inside cat only.
If you think you could be that furever family for Wilson, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Wilson's adoption fee is $200 & this includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Wilson is currently located in East Maitland.
Medical notes
Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common and consequential infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. Although cats infected with FIV may appear normal for years, they eventually suffer from immune deficiency, which allows normally harmless bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi found in the everyday environment to potentially cause severe illnesses. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
