About Luka
AVAILABLE NOW
Lovely little Luka 🥰
This 8 month old boy is such a sweetheart.
If course I say that about most of the kitties who are looking for homes - but Luka really is extra special!
He was rescued by rangers in a remote area some 3 hours North West of Northam.
When he came into care Luka was absolutely emaciated, skin and bone. He was anemic, riddled with fleas and worms these parasites depleting his body of all its strength.
He was terrified and had probably never been around people before, but his gratitude was obvious.
Luka went to the vets and was given a clean bill of health - no underlying cause could be found for his poor body condition, he had simply been starving due to lack of access to food!
Over the past months I have been overjoyed to watch Luka come on in leaps and bounds. He's a healthy, comfortable body weight now - the ranger who saved him got to see him this week and hit the nail on the head when saying he looks like a totally different cat!
Luka is just precious.
He loves to play with toys like jingly balls and pipe cleaners.
It's lovely to see him now, playing and happy, when he was so close to not surviving as such a young cat.
His favourite thing to do is eat, understandably 😅
He loves wet food, small amounts of biscuits (too much still upsets his tummy) and munching on raw chicken necks.
Luka loves pats and affection and gives very firm head butts and smooches.
He's a smoochaholic, especially at food time!
Luka likes other cats and would love a play mate 🐈✅
He's totally not bothered by dogs (though wouldn't appreciate being chased) 🐕✅
Luka is still a nervous little guy and will need time, kindness, patience, understanding and gentle handling from his new family.
He's going to make the most loyal, loving, adorable companion for someone willing to invest in him now.
Luka has just been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
He's very healthy except for one unique little oddity - his ears.
When he came into care, the skin on the tips of his ears appeared somewhat shrivelled and crusty.
These small areas of skin have essentially died off, possibly due to trauma/injury but also possibly due to issues with blood flow to his extremities when he was so anemic.
His ears will always be a bit misshapen and small but this doesn't affect his hearing or general well-being.

Luka can't wait to meet you
