About Shiloh
❌❌❌APPLY TO ADOPT SHILOH AT www.gsrv.com.au ❌❌❌
Shiloh is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd who finds herself homeless and very stressed in the shelter environment with our friends at RSPCA Victoria. Shiloh is not coping in the noisy kennels and is desperate for someone to break her out of there and give her a chance.
Shiloh is sweetheart, when in a calmer environment, she lets her true colours come out, revealing a snuggle bug, couch-loving pooch that just wants affection and to please her humans. German Shepherds never do well in shelters away from humans, they are people dogs and Shiloh is now exception to this. Shiloh loves everyone she meets and can’t get enough of humans; excited at first, she is best suited to a home where everyone is over 5 years old.
Shiloh has always slept inside in a crate; she loves being close to her humans and can fret a little when she is left alone for long periods of time without something to keep her amused. Shiloh would do best with someone home most of the time, she would love to be included inside as part of the family, she has been practising her cuddling skills and is ready to show them off. Shiloh must have secure fencing in her new home, Colourbond fencing or wooden fencing without rungs she can climb is required.
Shiloh is a typical working line shepherd that has lots of energy to burn, when given physical exercise and kept mentally stimulated, she is a happy, easy dog, very content with hanging out. Shiloh loves training and is super food motivated, she enjoys pleasing her people, waiting for her next command by looking up to you with her soulful eyes, wondering if she is a good girl… she would do well with regular training sessions to fine-tune her manners and to learn more skills. Shiloh loves food and would benefit from enrichment toys and games to keep her entertained and out of mischief.
Shiloh is a little conflicted around other dogs, out on walks, she becomes very aroused around others, barking and pulling towards them. Shiloh has previously been ok meeting other dogs but is currently too stressed in the shelter to meet them. Shiloh is improving on walks but for now would be best suited as the only dog in her new home whilst she unravels and decompressed from life in the shelter. Shiloh may be able to live with another dog in future, her new family will need to be committed to slow and controlled introductions, helping Shiloh to build confidence if this is their goal. Shiloh has not been tested with cats or other small pets.
This beautiful girl has so much to offer her new family, she is an active, friendly girl that will be incredibly loving and loyal to those she loves most. Shiloh is looking for someone with breed experience that can put in the time and effort to help her be the best version of herself. Shiloh needs out of the shelter so that she can shine and show off her true self, we can see the beautiful, sweet girl inside just waiting to be given a chance.
If you are in need of endless cuddles, a walking buddy, and someone to love you unconditionally, please consider if Shiloh could be the one for you!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
