About Buddy (63623)
Buddy is a big and goofy boy looking for a home that will commit to loving for a large breed. He was surrendered to GAWS care after becoming too big for the young children in the home and is now looking for a nice retirement home to run around in. He is not suited to a home with any kids under 8 but may suit a home with a playful or calm dog. During his time at GAWS, buddy was discovered to have had some cancerous lumps which have been easily removed, but knew owners will need to monitor any new lumps and bumps. He is not suited to living with cats or pocket pets. Buddy weighs 58kg. A message from our foster home: Oh hey there, my name is Buddy. I'm the goofiest, biggest, lovable guy. I've spent a bit of time in foster after I had to recover from some surgeries, and I've learnt a lot about myself in that time! I love to have warm couches and beds to lay on, I love lounging in the sun, I LOVE my rope toys, and food is my best friend. My foster family says I'm the cheekiest boy they've met, as I love to play hide-and-seek and refuse to come inside when I'm not done with my suntanning. I love pats and will demand them whenever I please, no matter what you are doing. I love to be near my people at all times, even if that means you have to dance around me in the kitchen. My perfect home would be one where my family doesn't have any cats as they are too quick for me and I chase them (oops), and potentially another dog. I can get a bit bouncy, and I'm still learning not to jump on humans when they're playing with me. I need a really strong human to help me on my walks, as being a typical Mastiff i can be strong and excitable. I do have a few health conditions to keep in my mind. Given my age, I've got some arthritis and hip dysplasia that is managed by monthly injections, and I am currently on metabolic food for my weight management. My new family will have to be committed to keeping this up and to ensuring that I've got the right things I need (good beds, warm blankets, and a warm place inside) to make sure my joints don't suffer too much. My foster family says that I am the best boy and I deserve to have a warm home where I feel safe and loved. I have so much love to give, and I am patiently waiting for the right person to come along! Peace out, Buddy
