About Harriet
My name is Harriet and I have been told I am an Australian Cobberdog- whatever that is. I heard my foster pawrent said that my person didn’t look after me. I was lucky that I got rescued from them. I look like a new dog now because no one brushed me, my fur grew and grew and no one brushed or bathed me and I was uncomfortable and stinky. I look very different now as I got a massive haircut which I did not Like but I feel much better now.
My foster pawrent says that I am a good girl most of the time and she would dearly love to keep me but it wouldn’t be fair, she says I need a bigger garden to play in and someone who can take me on long walks – she can’t walk a long way cos she has a bad back.
I know how to sit and wait, I play well with my toys, love going out in the car and meeting new people as long as they don’t rush me as apparently I can be a bit timid? I am slowly getting better about big noises or things dropping in the house. I need more help with my lead walking but I love a big big sniffff! I am trying hard with my toilet training but some times it’s not so good. Maybe if some wonderful people adopt me and have a doggy door I might get better at going out to wee. I always wake my mum up at night if I need to go toilet. She says I am a good girl.
Addition info on Harriet-
Harriet is an easy to manage young pup, likes to be close and soaks up as much love and cuddles as you can give. She does tend to jump and working on paws down so can’t say how gentle she would be with young children. She soaks up the attention from the kids when she goes to Grandaughters soccer games.
She will benefit with someone at home more often than not or possibly a fur sibling. She has been left a few times – usually not for long and I always give her a biscuit and say I will be back soon. I have only heard her barking/ howling once. On return you would think I had been gone for a week!
Her coat maintenance will be a priority for her new family. She found the five hour groom distressing and doesn't like the noise of clippers so a good groomer who understands her background is very important.
