About Harley
Meet Harley: The Beautiful and Stunning German Shepherd
Harley is a striking 46.90 kg German Shepherd, a big boy with a big heart. This stunning dog is highly trainable and would thrive with someone who understands the breed and enjoys outdoor activities and training sessions. Typical of his breed, Harley has some anxiety, but once he settles into his new home, he will relax and become a loyal and loving companion.
Harley has never been an inside dog, but he would love a home where he can be inside hanging out with his new family. He'd be thrilled to join the boys in the man cave or sit with the ladies on their wine nights. Harley would also enjoy exploring the outdoors, going camping, and just living his best life.
Best suited to a home with no other dogs until he has had some training, Harley is well-mannered but hasn't spent much time around other dogs. At the shelter, we've taken him out for walks with different dogs, and he settles down and is happy to walk next to them. However, he needs to learn how to interact with other dogs face-to-face before living with one.
Harley requires good and high fencing as he was known for jumping out of his yard in his previous home. However, at the shelter, he hasn't tried to escape at all. We believe that if he becomes a part of the family and is allowed indoors, this shouldn't be much of an issue. Harley walks well on a lead, loves playing with the hose and water, and enjoys chasing a ball.
Older kids would be ideal for Harley, and he would do best in a home without cats. This super awesome dog is ready for a loving home where he can thrive and be a part of the family.
Harley is a big boof of a dog with a heart of gold, eager to find his forever home and live his best life.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
