About Beau
Meet Beau, a delightful 1-year-old Border Collie x Poodle mix with a heart full of love and loyalty. Beau's endearing personality and super cute looks make him an irresistible addition to any family. As he is still quite young, Beau is in need of training, but his high intelligence and eagerness to please make him highly trainable. Once he gets to know you, Beau's affectionate nature shines through, and he becomes a devoted and loving companion.
One of Beau's best qualities is his excellent behavior on a lead, making walks a pleasant experience for both him and his owner. He thrives on outdoor adventures and enjoys the stimulation of new sights and smells. However, Beau prefers to be the only animal in the home. He isn't comfortable with cats or sharing his space with other dogs, which means he needs a household where he can be the sole focus of attention.
Despite his preference for being the only pet, Beau does enjoy the company of other dogs during walks. He hasn't been around many dogs, so he can be a bit unsure at first. Taking him on walks with friends' and family members' dogs that you know and trust would be ideal. These positive interactions help him learn that other dogs can be fun and non-threatening, gradually building his confidence.
An ideal home for Beau includes older children who understand the importance of giving a dog time and space to settle in and feel comfortable. Beau may be a little timid when first meeting new people, but with patience and gentle encouragement, he quickly warms up and reveals his friendly and loving nature. His loyalty to his family is unmatched, and he thrives in an environment where he feels safe and cherished.
Beau's playful side comes out during his favorite activities, which include interactive games and mental challenges. As a mix of Border Collie and Poodle, he has a natural aptitude for learning new tricks and commands. Regular training sessions not only provide him with the mental stimulation he craves but also strengthen the bond between Beau and his family.
In summary, Beau is a wonderful young dog with a lot of love to give. He needs a family who is willing to invest time in his training and provide him with the understanding and patience he needs to feel secure. With the right environment and a loving family, Beau will undoubtedly flourish into a well-adjusted and cherished member of the household, bringing joy and companionship to those who open their hearts to him.
To book a meet and greet with Beau please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
