Meet this beautiful boy "Sam" who's looking for his forever home and live out the rest of his life in a quiet environment.
He's a loyal, affectionate, and lovable companion who adores being around people and will follow you wherever you go. He loves car rides and is always up for a trip in the car, sits quietly and looks out the window. He has bursts of energy where he loves to play ball, and enjoys spending time with his favourite toys.
However, he is not comfortable around other dogs and can get overexcited and protective when unsure of how to behave. He needs someone who will give him guidance.
Thanks to his ongoing training, he is learning to walk relatively calmly past other dogs with treats and has even made a few doggy friends that he is comfortable to stroll with! But still needs guidance and reassurance. Sam responds well to calm commands and treats. He can sit, stay, lay down, paw, and other paw. He is totally house trained and can use the dog door. Sam also loves to cuddle up with you on the couch and he is an excellent little spoon and will stay in bed and sleep with you. He just adores to be with you!
This sweet boy thrives in a quiet household where he can be the only pet. He is not suited for homes with small children and too much noise, he becomes stressed with lots of people. But will make the perfect, loyal companion for the right family or retiree or someone who is home more often. He deserves a chance to show just how loving and fun he can be.

wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
