About Charlie
Charlie is a sweet senior girl that wants nothing more than a home to call her own.
She is a 14 year old Ragdoll. Her favourite things to do are sunbake, eat wet food, and sit on your lap. She is a very cuddly girl, she likes to be picked up and carried around like the queen she is.
She wouldn't mind having another cat friend or two, as long as they will be as friendly as she is, she's a lover, not a fighter.
The right home for her would be quite, warm and offer lots of time with you ♡
She doesn't mind young children, as long as they are gentle with her and she isn't left alone with them.
Sweet little Charlie would love your company and care as she eases into retirement 🐾💖
Medical notes
Charlie has been diagnosed with Pancreatitis, which is an inflammatory condition common in older cats.
Treatment for pancreatitis usually involves supportive care, pain management, and dietary adjustments. Regular vet check-ups are important to assess how the condition is progressing.
She's happy in herself, eats well, purrs her head off and doesnt seem to be in pain, however it does cause some tummy issues so she's on a raw diet with a probiotic supplement. Since putting her on this diet her tummy has been perfect, she's put on weight and is feeling wonderful and ready for her forever home :)

💕 ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION
As well as working with dogs, Sunny Days runs Victoria's only specialised stray cat rehab facility in Avalon, Vic. Our rehab centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is in constant demand due to the sheer number of cats born wild, and dogs no longer wanted.
💕 HOW ARE WE FUNDED?
Despite the demand, we have no source of ongoing funding. Unlike public pounds who enter into contracts with local councils to be the facility responsible for housing lost animals in that municipality, volunteer-run shelters like ours do not receive any government funding, we are left to fund our work through our own pockets and community donations.
💕 UNABLE TO ADOPT OR VOLUNTEER BUT WOULD LIKE TO HELP?
We receive adoption fees from the animals we rehome however these are rarely, if ever, enough to cover what we spend to prepare them for new homes. Aside from adoption fees, we receive no other source of funding except donations from our community, which are invaluable to our work. 💕 OUR WORK WITH CATS
We take in full cat colonies, pregnant and nursing mothers, ophan kittens, FIV positive cats, and sick or injured cats. Cats are humanely trapped after being identified as un-owned and we support them through full rehabilitation from wild and unhandleable to fully domesticated. We don't give them deadlines to be socialised by or they'll be euthanised, we provide sanctuary for them for as long as they need.
💕 OUR WORK WITH DOGS
We take in dogs from community surrenders, booked for unnecessary euthanasia by owners but vets have intervened and contacted us, or rescued from pound death row. Most of our dogs are with us for extended periods to ensure we know them really well before putting them up for adoption, and have been assessed by professional dog trainers if not worked with extensively. We provide full discretion with adopters about dogs' health and behaviour, unlimited 24-hour support, and a month-long fully refundable adoption trial to ensure dogs are given the best chance to integrate into new homes, families and lifestyles.
We also offer a lifetime guarantee to take any of our adopted cats and dogs back should something happen and their adopters are no longer able to care for them.
