About Lady
Hi, my name is Lady, and I am a Miniature Dachshund and I am 3 years and 9 months old
I came into care a few months ago from a breeder who wasn't the greatest and the rescue has worked really hard to show me that life is great, and people are lovely.
My foster mum has been telling me that there is a family out there for me and I am nervous but excited.
My foster mum says I'm a happy little girl who is blossoming beautifully - she says I need to tell you about me as it's my time to shine in life and not just be around to make babies.
I love a home with a routine - I love to know that each day I'm going to be loved and have the best life possible.
I would love a home where there is someone home more often than not or someone who works from home or is retired etc etc etc. I would love someone who loves to sit and watch tv or read a book, I would love to snuggle up to you on the couch and nap while you do your thing.
I am used to other dogs, cats and kids but can be a bit nervous if any of them are too loud or rough.
I am learning my basic commands but still need to work on those - I have never had commands before but I'm a good learning and my foster mum says a beautiful girl.
I'm happy to live in a home with another (small) breed dog or by myself, however my favorite thing is a human lap.
I have lived with young kids, and I am okay unless they are really loud and rambunctious - just because I can be a bit unsure of things like that.
I am nervous when meeting new people so I do need a few minutes just to settle and get used them, but the rescue thinks as time goes by in my forever home that will lessen as I will be confident and settled.
I am looking for a home that is quiet and calm but still has a few people in the home to hang out and spend time with.
Once I am comfortable with you, I would love to be able to give you cuddles – happy on the bed or on the couch together.
I am currently learning to walk on a lead, and I will tell a big dog off but that's just to say hey you I'm short so don't step on me (even if they are on the other side of the road!), my size dogs don't bother me. I do love a good walk so hopefully my new family will love to do that with me.
I love to go to the beach, and love going on the back of the bike in the little cart that my foster mum has!
I am child friendly but don't want to be carried around by kids please
I am toilet trained but may have an accident when first coming into a new home but if you give me a chance I will show you my gratitude in kisses and cuddles when I'm comfortable.
I am happy to have access to inside and outside during the day (I like to sleep inside on the couch, humans bed or my dog bed when you're at work or if you work from home, I'm pretty sure I can find a spot in your office and snooze - my foster mum says I'm really like a cat!) I also like to get a good sunbake on when the weather is warm.

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
