About Nilar
*Currently in foster care in Erskineville, Sydney*
Nilar is Burmese for sapphire - and when this gorgeous girl stares up at you with those blue-grey eyes your heart just melts! Sweet and petite, she has the softest coat and beautiful markings - you can’t help but fall in love with her.
Nilar came to us with a sad story. Used for breeding, before being dumped and found in a colony, this beautiful girl is deserving of the quiet life with a doting family who'll want nothing from her but love and companionship.
She is inquisitive and will seek you out for pats and cuddles - just wait for her to come to you :) She loves games and loves her food and is quite vocal and chatty, with a cute croaky meow! Here are some videos of her in action:

This snuggly and sociable lady pretty much always wants to be on your lap or by your side, so long as she's given a safe and supportive space to come out of her shell.
Currently we're looking at a foster-to-adopt situation for Nilar, so she can have some time to adjust to her new home, and we can ensure some necessary dental work can be completed before adoption.
Like all Maggie's pets, Nilar is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: Did you know Birmans were the companion cats of temple priests in northern Burma? This fits me to a tee, because I'm the purrfect companion who loves to hang out with my special human (even if you're not a priest!).
My ideal home will be gentle and peaceful, hopefully with a small room where I can settle in and get comfortable for a while before exploring the whole home.
My love language is quality time! So if you're home a lot, or maybe have some WFH days, that would be amazing. With my breed being very strong in companion traits, I'd adore having another cat around to bond with - otherwise I tend to seek out or cry out for friends if I’m feeling lonely.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: ... is a good mix of napping, cuddling and playing! I respond really well to fun games - you'll love seeing my kittenish side come out.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I'm currently in a child-free foster home, but a permanent home with calm, respectful children aged 12+ might suit me.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I've met other friendly cats and have been intrigued - I'd love the chance to make a BFF (Best Feline Friend)!
Though I've not been tested with dogs at this stage, there’s a chance I'd get along well with a nice one.
Medical notes
Some dental work to be completed prior to adoption.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
