About Ducky
Meet Ducky: A Brave Little Soul in Search of Her Forever Home 🐾
Ducky is a small Frenchie/Pug mix, around 2 years old, with a story that tugs at the heartstrings. Found abandoned in bushland with a few other dogs, Ducky was the most frightened of them all. Despite her rough start, this little lady has made incredible strides in her foster care journey.
When Ducky first arrived, she was so scared that even the slightest touch would cause her to urinate and defecate in fear. But with patience and love, she's come a long way. Now, she eagerly accepts pats in exchange for treats and loves to follow her foster family around the house, curious about their every move.
Ducky’s unique look matches her equally unique personality. She has a special bond with other dogs, finding comfort and security in their company. Watching her interact with her canine friends reveals glimpses of her cheeky, playful side—a side that’s been nurtured through her interactions with other dogs.
Food is Ducky’s greatest motivator and has played a key role in her progress. Her love for treats has made it easier for her to learn to trust and accept affection from her human friends.
Ducky is looking for a patient, loving home where she can continue to grow and thrive. A home with other friendly dogs would be ideal, as their presence helps her feel safe and secure. With time, the right family, and the continued patience she deserves, Ducky will learn to embrace and enjoy human affection.
If you think you can offer Ducky the loving, understanding home she needs, please reach out.
MY IDEAL HOME: Ducky’s ideal home would be with someone who has experience in owning dogs and has the patience and determination to help Ducky flourish. Her new owners must be aware that ducky is still a work in progress and there is no quick fix to her fears. Another friendly doggy companion (or even two or three!) is a must as she will definitely stress and shutdown without one. Ducky is suited to the quite life so a calm stable household is also a must. She has not yet ventured into the outside world however she loves exploring her yard and household. Ducky is still quite flighty so a safe and secure front and backyard is a necessity.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Ducky has still not ventured out on a proper ‘walk’ or been able to be walked properly on a lead but she does enjoy playtime with all of her doggy foster brothers and sisters with several naps in the sun throughout the day
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Ducky is untested towards children how ever she needs a quiet home so children over 12 would be ideal given that they understand they need to give her space
MY SUITABILITY TO DOGS AND CATS: Other friendly dogs in the household are a must! She is untested towards cats however given her playful nature we feel she would be fine towards cats

We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
