Teak had a really horrific start to life, he was dumped alongside his sister, very unwell and tiny and as a result was given a name to inspire him to grow tall and strong and tall and strong he is! While he is part Dachshund, he has lovely lanky legs and is more like a large terrier size than a short Dachs!

His resilience, sun shiny outlook on life and huge heart makes him one special boy!

One of his most heartwarming traits is his love for warmth and coziness. He thrives on being inside, where he feels safe and secure. He loves nothing more than a cuddle on the couch, snuggled up close and warm to the people he loves and trusts.

This boy absolutely adores his toys and has a hilarious sense of humour that will keep you laughing, he is quite the clown. He genuinely gets very excited when presented with new toys - they make his day! He loves to wrestle with his foster brothers and sisters and would really benefit with a doggo friend! His fun-loving view on the world is infectious, and he never misses a chance to have fun!

He loves his walks and adventures, walking beautifully on his lead without or without a doggo friend. He has already been on a quite a few adventures, to the beach, markets, the bush! Sometimes he can be a little nervous, but he soon settles when he is supported and off he trots! He is food driven and loves a treat, which certainly helps with his training!

Teak has rarely been alone, either having his human or doggo foster family with him, he isn’t the kinda guy who would be happy to be left for long periods alone.

When it comes to nighttime, he is extremely well crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night. His crate is his sanctuary, and he settles in with ease, making bedtime a breeze. He often retires to bed early, having to be woken for final toilet stops at night!

While he can be shy and unsure of strangers at first, once he feels comfortable, his true personality shines through. He becomes fun and outgoing, ready to enjoy life to the fullest. It’s important to remember that he will take time to bond and he doesn’t trust immediately.

He will need a gentle and understanding owner who is committed to helping build his confidence, he is sensitive and takes things to heart easily. With love, patience, and a supportive environment, he will thrive and become a loyal, loving member of your family.
