About Scrumpy and Paul
From a life set to prematurely end to a journey of hope and healing, this is Scrumpy and Paul.
Scrumpy and Paul faced a grim fate with uncertain futures. When the ‘Til The Cows Come Home team got the call, Scrumpy’s condition was severe. His owners, unable to provide the necessary care, were left with no choice but euthanasia. We were able to step in and offer Scrumpy a second chance.
𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒚’𝒔 𝑶𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚
Scrumpy’s health had deteriorated due to multiple calcium oxalate stones blocking his urethra, causing him excruciating pain. Without intervention, Scrumpy’s life would have ended prematurely. In a race against time, emergency surgeries were performed to save him. Scrumpy underwent three critical procedures, successfully removing the stones that threatened his life.
𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍’𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕
During Scrumpy’s ordeal, Paul, his steadfast companion, remained a beacon of hope. Paul’s playful nature and adventurous spirit provided much-needed comfort to Scrumpy. After weeks of separation due to Scrumpy’s medical needs, the two were joyfully reunited. Their bond is unbreakable, and they are now ready to find a loving forever home together.
𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍
Scrumpy, short for Scrumptious, has the sweetest face that matches his personality. He is relaxed and happy to be loved, often letting out a gentle bleat to say hello every time he sees someone.
Paul, on the other hand, is more outgoing and loves to play. He can get a little adventurous but respects a secure fence. Paul is very food motivated, always making sure he is first to be fed, and he loves a good head scratch.
𝑰𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆
The ideal home for Scrumpy and Paul will have secure fencing, a shelter to keep them warm and dry, and plenty of space for them to roam and play. Most importantly, they need a family who will shower them with the love and care they deserve.
𝑭𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔:
- Both goats will need a strict diet to prevent urinary stones
- Low calcium and phosphorus diet
- No goat pellets or lucerne
- Diet can consist of browsing, Rhodes, or pasture hay
- Daily monitoring of urine output or straining
