About 🎩Darby🎩
Darby is a 13-year-old Chinchilla with the heart of a quiet, older gentleman. He loves doing his own thing throughout the day but is always happy to hang out with you while you work or potter around the house. Due to his arthritis he prefers life on one level so will need a home without steps or stairs. His favourite activity in his foster home is sitting next to the air vent and feeling the wind rush through his fur. Darby lives life on his own timetable but loves it when you get on his level for a head and neck pat! Having had some bad experiences with other cats, Darby would prefer a home where he can be the only feline. However, he may be suitable for a home with a similarly aged dog who won’t bother him. Darby needs an understanding new home that will love him for who he is.Darby has some ongoing medical care that is easy to manage. He currently receives a monthly injection to assist with his arthritis, which we would love to see continued in his new home, but we can also provide information about daily supplements that may help. He was recently diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Disease. This will not impact the length of his life and his medication has dramatically improved it already. It is currently easily managed with one tablet per day. Darby has had a very successful dental procedure while in our care and will need the usual ongoing dental checks that all cats need. While it is tricky to determine, we believe Darby is deaf, which makes him unbothered by vacuums but means that he requires a 100% indoor home.Darby deserves a very special home to enjoy the twilight years of his life. He is of course, desexed, microchipped and up to date with his parasite treatments and vaccinations.
Darby is in care in Brighton.
Medical notes
