About Pilot
Meet Pilot, a lovable, roly-poly boy with the cutest stumpy legs you’ll ever see! At just a year old, this sweet terrier mix is ready to find a quiet, loving home where he can blossom. With his round belly and adorable face, Pilot is possibly the cutest dog in all of NSW, and he’s looking for someone to share all his snuggles and affection with.
Pilot is as loving as they come and craves companionship, but he does best as the only dog for now. He’s a little too sensitive to unfamiliar dogs and situations, and can be reactive to loud or unexpected noises, so he’s best suited to a calm, quiet environment where he can feel safe and secure. While he’s still working on his leash manners, he’s a real cuddle bug who thrives on human attention and affection. He’s a total sweetheart who will be your best friend once he gets comfortable with you!
What You Should Know:
Leash Manners: Pilot is working on his leash skills and can be reactive to other dogs or people he encounters while on walks. It’s something we’re actively working on with him, so he’ll need an owner who is patient and committed to helping him improve with positive reinforcement.
Quiet Environment: Pilot is sensitive to new and loud noises, so he would be happiest in a peaceful home where he can relax and feel safe. He’s not a fan of dog parks or busy, chaotic environments, but he’d absolutely love a quiet stroll through nature with you by his side.
Training Needs: While Pilot is an affectionate little guy, he still needs some guidance when it comes to navigating the world. Ongoing training will help him build confidence and manage his reactions to the unknown, and he’s very eager to learn from a loving, patient owner.
Pilot’s Ideal Home: Pilot is looking for a calm, quiet home where he can be the center of attention and get lots of cuddles. He’s best suited to a household where he can get some gentle training, regular walks, and plenty of peace and quiet. He’ll thrive with someone who understands his need for a slow-paced, reassuring environment.
Energy Level: Despite his short little legs, Pilot is full of energy and loves his daily walks. He’s happy with a couple of short walks each day and plenty of indoor playtime with his toys. His terrier nature means he enjoys running and playing, but he’s not too wild—just enough energy to keep you entertained!
Suitability to Children: Pilot has met children while out and about and has been very gentle with them. He could do well in a home with older, calm children who can respect his need for space and help him feel safe.
Suitability to Cats and Other Dogs: Pilot would prefer to be the only dog in the household for now. He’s still working on feeling comfortable around other dogs and can be reactive to them. While he has successfully lived with other dogs previously, we feel for now he needs a calm, solo dog environment where he can feel like the star of the show and maybe when he's mastered some more life skills he would like adog friend.
If you’re looking for a loving, snuggly companion who just wants to be by your side, Pilot is the perfect match. With a little patience and lots of love, he’ll be your forever friend!

For Dogs: https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872
Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
