Meet Diamond, the jewel among felines. She might look a bit rough around the edges, but her personality shines brighter than any gemstone. At heart, Diamond is an absolute sweetheart.
She's an easygoing, calm, and patient senior, but what truly sets her apart is her affectionate nature. Diamond has a tendency to form deep connections with her family, providing the most wonderful companionship.
Diamond is also quite sociable and is comfortable living with other animals. Whether you have fellow cats or even well-mannered canines, Diamond is more than happy to share her space. She enjoys their companionship and will actively engage with them, be it a relaxing nap together or a fun play session in the sun.
She's tailor-made for a family that appreciates her calm and loving nature, someone she can shower with affection.
Medical notes
The pet described above has evidence of skin disease. This may include hair loss and red, inflamed and itchy skin. This cat may have skin problems for the rest of their life either ongoing or intermittently. Although we may never know what the underlying cause or triggers of this condition may be, it is important that the management plan outlined by the Veterinary team is followed to help minimise the occurrences of flare ups. You may need to seek veterinary advice more often to help keep on top of this condition. You should use veterinary approved parasite control measures and follow all advice pertaining to diet and medications, for successful treatment and management of this condition. Chronic skin conditions can be costly and time consuming to treat, but early intervention at the first sign of scratching, hair loss, skin redness, or over-grooming, should be attended to by a veterinarian immediately, to help reduce the discomfort to your cat.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
