About George
The most handsomest fun loving boy is now seeking his forever home
With his snowball white as snow coat and his adorable black ear and of course the Border Collie personality and brains how could you go wrong bringing g this boy into your life
George oozes love and affection. He’s always ready to melt in your arms with lots of pats and kisses and has the sweetest and most gentle temperament.
Give him a rope or squeaky toy and he’ll be bouncing around playfully. He loves his toys and interacting with humans. George has a great nose on him too. One of his favourite activities is sniffing out treats. Throw a handful of treats or dry kibble in the grass and watch George’s tail wag as he skilfully sniffs them out.
Indoors, George is calm and enjoys the company of his foster brother and family. Well mannered he’ll sleep at your legs during family meal time and T.V time. George can get a little timid around strangers. With patience and a few delicious treats, he’ll warm up to you in minutes. George has not interacted with children in his foster home or feline company.
In terms of obedience, George is ready to please. He walks well on a harness with some gentle guidance if he gets excited. He will sit and drop when asked and has good recall in low stimulation environments. In the yard George is easily occupied with toys and room to run around with his foster brother. He does alert you if there are new noises however settles soon after. George enjoys car rides, whether it’s sniffing all the new smells or laying across the seats for a nap. He may need a little encouragement to jump into the car, but after a few rides he’s a confident boy.
George takes time to warm up to other dogs therefore gentle introductions are best with single dogs at a time. Because of this, dog parks may not be ideal for George as he settles into his new home. George plays well with his foster brother, leaning toward the submissive side. If his foster brother becomes too rough or playful, it can become too much for George and he’ll show you when he’s had enough by moving away.
George is highly food driven and while not protective of his own, he is quick to eat his foster brother’s kibble. A slow feeder and separate feeding areas has helped with this.
George has settled in well with the company of his foster brother. While his foster brother naps, if George is in a playful mood, he easily self-entertains with toys and stimulating activities that require his skilful nose. He’ll be content for hours in the yard.
During the evenings, George settles indoors on his bed with the company of his foster brother. He can sleep through the night however has woken up a few times for a toilet break. Changing George’s routine to morning and early afternoon feeding times has helped with this.
George loves stimulation and exercise. A treat dispenser, stuffed Kong or food scattered around the garden keeps him occupied. Daily walks and training sessions would greatly benefit this young pup who’s eager to learn and exercise.
George’s ideal home would be one where he is surrounded by people who can give him the love and affection he adores and deserves. He longs to please and learn so one who will provide him with recall training and basic commands is ideal. With George’s calm nature, he’d be well suited to a household with a female dog who loves to play , an older couple or family who have the time to train and care for him. A backyard with space to run around and a soft bed he can curl up in will make him even happier.
