If you are looking for a sweet cuddly boy and a real charmer, look no further! Khalil is here!
He is a kind and gentle soul who loves car rides, walks at the park, being very social and playful as well as snoozing next to his foster mum’s work desk while she is works from home. Khalil is extremely dog and people friendly and so full of love. He is everyone’s friend.
Khalil also enjoys following his foster mum and watching her while she cooks. He is quite food motivated so would be a good idea to keep all edibles put away. He does not jump or try to snatch food from hands which makes him such a good boy. He also enjoys keeping an eye on his foster mum from a distance making sure she is ok. Every so often he will run up to her for a pat or a cuddle. He is just the sweetest boy with not a single mean bone in his body.
Khalil is quite timid; however, he will roll over for tummy rubs once he feels comfortable and safe with you.
He is a quick learner, good with routine, playful, energetic (with an ability to switch off as required), not aggressive and receptive to commands and your vibe. It is a huge positive that he hardly ever barks.
He lives extremely well with his foster fur-sisters and doesn’t mind sharing his toys and his bed. He is also extremely patient with a puppy and puts up with his puppy play with grace and kindness, never snapping at him. His training to be home alone with his foster fur-sisters is ongoing and he has successfully stayed home for several hours without any issues.
Khalil would love to go to a home with a similar sized dog as being quite a young dog, he enjoys a good run around and playing with his doggie mates. As his energy levels are moderate, he would be happy with a medium sized backyard with regular visits to off lead dog parks (after sufficient training), beach walks, hiking trails and all other adventures you could possibly think of.
Khalil walks well with a Halti and continued lead training would be beneficial for him. Being a quick learner, he is already learning commands like sit, stop, no, walk, go slow, come here etc and to wait for his food and treats, when to go to his bed and how to follow a routine.
He sleeps through the night and is toilet trained. Training to use the doggy door will really help him to have a good mix of indoor and outdoor time. He is best suited for a home where he is included in activities, adventures, and everyday life as much as possible.
