About Cooper
Meet Cooper, a gentle and timid soul seeking a loving home where he can truly flourish. Cooper came to us with his littermates from a rural property in Gympie, and it's likely they had limited exposure to people before joining our care.
To Set Cooper Up for Success:
Start in a Small Area: Begin by setting up a cozy, small space for Cooper to acclimate. Prevent access to hard-to-reach spots and block off any escape routes. Allow him time to adjust before exploring the larger house, as he can become overwhelmed in open spaces.
Safe Spaces: Provide scratch posts, cat trees, and hiding spots like cardboard boxes or cat igloos. Access to high and low shelves or dressers will offer him safe, comfortable spaces throughout the house.
Patient Adopter Needed: Cooper will benefit from a patient and understanding adopter who recognizes that he may be timid initially. He needs time to settle in and show his true personality.
Recommended for Teens/Older Children: Older children who can read basic cat body language and know when to give Cooper space would be ideal.
Social Cat Companion: Cooper would thrive in a home with another social cat, as he gains confidence from feline companionship and it helps him bond with humans.
Calm Social Dog Possible: He may do well with a calm, social dog if interactions are monitored closely.
About Cooper:
Cooper is slowly coming out of his shell with gentle love and attention. He enjoys being softly spoken to, roast chicken, and gentle play. Although he can be touch-avoidant, he appreciates when you offer your hand like a loose fist for him to tap and bunt against before a gentle scratch. With patience, Cooper will lean in for chin strokes, purr, and may even give a little lick.
If you're ready to offer a quiet, understanding home and perhaps another friendly cat, Cooper could be the perfect addition to your family.
