About Andy - 7 Week Old Staffy X (Trial)
Andy is a 7 week old, male Staffy cross puppy. He is brave and adventurous and will grow to be a dog who loves going out and about with you.
Andy is a very smart and active little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He loves other dogs but he is quite independent and could be an only dog if given lots of stimulation and the company of people. He’s interested, friendly and affectionate with everyone and loves to make new human friends. He keeps an eye on everything that is going on and you can see him absorbing and learning all the time. Andy loves to explore the environment and even at this young age will wander away to check out a new smell, sight or taste so he needs a secure yard and consistent supervision. He is very keen on toys and games and loves to run as fast as he can from one place to the other.
Andy will grow up to be a medium dog. He is in the very early stages of toilet training but is showing signs of understanding that there is a toilet area and moving towards it when he needs to go. Andy is food motivated and is starting to sit for a treat. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Andy loves his toys and particularly loves to steal one from his brother and run away to a hiding place with it, looking back to encourage a game of chasey.
Andy needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He would be a wonderful dog for an active single or couple but would also enjoy playing with older kids. He will need very regular walks and outings to keep his brain active. Andy is a typical puppy who bites and chews (with a special interest in shoes) so if there are children in the family it would be best to have someone experienced with young dogs who can manage and explain normal puppy interaction to kids. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Andy’s brother Hamish is also available for adoption.
Andy’s adoption fee is $700 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Andy is in foster care in Toukley, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
