delia came to us in a shocking way. . She was neglected and suffered terribly from skin conditions which were so easily treated or avoided. Delia is now well on her way to recovery and is the picture of health and happiness. She has a special place in the hearts of bfr staff. Delia is very much a little maremma girl. . She is happy and bright and very playful but is already taking her guarding duties very seriously. Every night before her carer goes to sleep she comes up on the bed for cuddles but she will not stay there. . As soon as she falls asleep delia pops off and climbs under the bed exactly the same thing teddy (big maremma) does. They stay awake all night guarding. . She feels very safe at night with two maremma's under her bed. . Like all maremmas she has a reserved dignity when she meets people but warms to visitors quickly and she really likes children (the neighbour has a 2 year old boy). Recently she spent her very first day in the dog park and she had a blast with all the other dogs. . It was great to see her finally enjoy the freedom and rights a dog deserves. Preference will be given to the experienced maremma owner. . Please do a little research on this magnificent breed before enquiring about adopting her. . Then if delia fits into your life then please contact liz for a meeting. To apply for adoption please see http://www. Bestfriendsrescue. Com/apply. Html
