HOUSEHOLD- Introducing Miss London, a beautiful, nervous little lady who is looking for a dog experienced home to call her own. She is always ready to roll over and get a belly rub or two but needs a family who has the time and skills to help her build her confidence and enjoy the big wide world. She may be best suited to an adult only home due to her nervous tendancies but dog confident children 8yrs and above may be suitable as we have not seen any concerning behaviours and will continue to monitor whilst she is with us.

ON-GOING TRAINING- London has not had a lot of exposure or training in the real world and will need an owner who has had some previous experience with building confidence. She is food and handler motivated and will just require time and patience.

ON LEAD- London is still learning how to walk properly on lead and is improving everyday. She can walk calmly when she feels comfortable and confident but can also be abit erratic when unsure. She responds well to handler interactions and with support will be a great walker in no time.

PLAY/TOYS- While she shows some interest in toys London would much prefer handler interaction at this stage. This may be because she does not yet feel 100% comfortable in the facility.

OTHER DOGS- London is sadly not well socialised with other dogs. She becomes defensive and fearful on initial meetings or with dogs that are too boisterous and needs time to settle with them for positive interactions to occur. We are working on this at the facility but for this reason she may be best suited as an only dog or living with a very well socialised quieter canine companion. She is not suitable for dog beaches or parks at this stage and may never be confident enough for that kind of environment.

CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- London finds cats abit scary and may not be suitable to live with them. Whilst her behaviour shown towards them could change with time or with the right cat, it would be a discussion we would need to have at the time of her adoption interests.

CARE/GROOMING- London has a lovely shorter coat that will require weekly brushing and monthly washing to keep her feeling good. She can be abit nervous with grooming tools and will require some time to get used to a grooming routine or build a relationship with a groomer if you wanted to send her to someone.

EXERCISE- London is a young dog and has energy to burn. She will require 1-2 walks daily and some games in the backyard to keep her mentally and physically satisfied. She will require time to feel comfortable and confident walking in her new area and playing new games.

NUTRITION- London is still on a puppy food diet and is being feed twice daily. She does appear to gain weight easily and will require an owner who is able to monitor her weight gain as she gets older.

BREED- 1 Year Old, Staffy Mix

This sweet girl is located at our Charmhaven Shelter. Her reduced $200 adoption fee covers microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
