Hello! My name is Oryx and I’m the biggest, boofiest boy you’ll ever meet. I’m an absolute love bug, and I’m hoping you’ll give me the chance to show you that.

Nature
I am a very loving, affectionate boy who loves pats and head rubs. If my Foster Mum stops patting me, I’ll give her a cheeky bat on the hand or flop onto her lap to tell her I want more. I’m a very quiet boy, I don’t chat or meow, but I will follow my Foster Mum around and come running if she calls me. I’m even starting to get used to being picked up!

When I first came into care, I didn’t know what humans were so it took a few months for me to trust my Foster Mum and let her pat me. Now that I’ve let me guard down, there’s no going back! It may take me a few weeks to find my footing in a new home, but I’ll be your best friend in no time.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I would suit a child-free home whilst I continue learn to trust humans. If you plan on having them in future that will be fine, as I’m sure we’ll be the best of buddies before they come along.

I absolutely LOVE cats. I even cuddle with and groom the kittens if I get the chance. I’m a teddy bear with not a single mean bone in my body, I truly want to be best friends with every cat I meet. I’d love to be adopted to a home with another cat, if you don’t already have one perhaps you can adopt one of the other adults or kittens from my foster home with me?!

I live with a 50kg dog and don’t seem bothered by her, so I could live with another dog if given slow introductions.

Likes / Dislikes
I love food and head scratches, but my favourite thing in the world is kittens. I’m like a dad to them all! I dislike sudden movements and super loud noises, but I’m learning not to be so nervous.

My PURR-fect home would be with a calm, gentle human or family that will give me lots of time and patience to settle in. I need an indoor only home, and a kitty friend to keep me company. Better yet, if it was a kitten friend, that would be a dream come true!

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

If you would like to apply to adopt Oryx please come and meet him at PETStock Baldivis this Saturday from 10am until 2pm. He will be ready to go home with the first suitable family.

Oryx’s adoption fee includes vet check, sterilisation, vaccination*, microchip, flea and worm treatment.

*Vaccinations are subject to availability due to a worldwide vaccine shortage. Our adoption team will notify you if the cat/kitten you apply to adopt has NOT been vaccinated.

Medical Notes: Oryx has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can affect his immune system, however, he can still potentially live a long healthy life. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Due to his FIV Oryx will need to be an indoor only cat. FIV cats can live harmoniously with other cats however slow introductions are required to ensure they do not fight.

Oryx was exposed to Ringworm, a common fungal infection. He did not show any symptoms and was given the all clear by the vet.
