If you’ve been looking for a giant, ginger, super-sooky lap cat, then Marmalade is your boy!

Nature
Having spent his life trying to survive on the streets, he has some scars that make him look tough but really he’s the most affectionate and gorgeous cat that just wants somewhere safe to call his forever home, filled with love and pats.

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Marmalade could happily live with cat-savvy kids as he is so gentle and patient with the resident 2 year old mini human who he loves to cuddle with.

Marmalade does not get on with the other cats in the house but has slowly gotten used to the dog and tolerates her now! He’d be OK with a chilled dog who left him alone providing they had slow introductions.

Likes / Dislikes
Marmalade's favourite place is curled up purring away on his Fosters Mum's chest or lap! He loves having lots of fuss and cuddles and then snoozing away on a bed, sofa or cat tree. He enjoys his food and will let you know when it’s mealtimes, and he uses his litter trays perfectly.

He does sometimes need some space and will wander off - so as long everyone in the home can read his signs he’ll be a wonderful addition to the family.

Because of his old life as a street cat, he definitely only wants to be an indoor cat now (but would love a secure outdoor enclosure!).

My PURR-fect home would be one with no cats, but I’d be happy with a cat-savvy dog or kids. All I really want is lots of love and fuss!

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

If you would like to apply to adopt Marmalade please come and meet him at PETStock Baldivis this Saturday from 10am until 2pm. He will be ready to go home with the first suitable family.

Marmalade's adoption fee includes vet check, sterilisation, vaccination*, microchip, flea and worm treatment.

*Vaccinations are subject to availability due to a worldwide vaccine shortage. Our adoption team will notify you if the cat/kitten you apply to adopt has NOT been vaccinated.

Medical Notes: Marmalade has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can affect his immune system, however, he can still potentially live a long healthy life. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Due to his FIV Marmalade will need to be an indoor only cat. Marmalade does not get along with other cats so must go to a home with no other cats.

Marmalade had bilateral lower entropion surgery to correct abnormal inward rolling of the lower eyelids, he has fully recovered from this.

Marmalade had a dental scale and polish in May 2024 with his upper left canine and a lower premolar extracted.

Marmalade has Gingivitis, which is inflammation of the gums. This condition may require treatment on and off throughout his life. Marmalade will need his teeth checked at his annual vaccination. He may need treatment in between these times (of steroids and/or antibiotics) if the condition worsens. He may need teeth extracted in the future.
