About Matilda
Matilda is a social girl who enjoys playing with other male German Shepherds. Since with her foster carer, she has learnt to behave in a group of six other German Shepherds.
Matilda thrives best in an environment with plenty of room to run and play. She's been known to leap over medium-sized fences, so a home with high, secure fencing is a must. Unfortunately, farms with livestock aren't suitable for this bounding beauty. Instead, she delights in free walks in open bushland and spacious places and enjoys cooling off by playing in creeks. After a busy day outdoors, she loves to be groomed as it forms a part of her relaxation time.
Matilda adapts well to routine, structured exercise and training. She has had limited training on lead and is working towards walking on a loose lead.
Matilda is not suitable with small dogs and has not been on cats.
If you understand the nature of a German Shepherd, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Matilda. She will provide lots of love and companionship in abundance when she connects and builds that trust with her new owner.
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered for adoption; however, you must be able to drive with your family to meet Matilda. If for any reason he doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing him back to Sydney or helping us rehome him from your home.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
