About Ginny
Ginny was found as a stray who had very recently had puppies and was sadly very under weight. Since being in foster care she is now thriving, she has put on weight and her coat is now shiny after lots of grooming which she really enjoys.
Ginny has a sweet temperament and is quite social amongst her fur friends who are all German Shepherds. However what Ginny craves for is her humans and a sense of belonging to a kind knowledgeable family. She enjoys free walks in bushland open spaces and enjoys playing in creeks. Ginny likes to run out for sniffs and then circles to come back to you for a gentle pat and reassurance then heads off again.
Ginny is agile and can jump medium fences, she can jump into the back of a ute from a stand still. She will need a home with colourbond type fencing.
Ginny has not been tested with small dogs or cats.
If you understand the nature of a German Shepherd, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Ginny. She will provide lots of love and companionship in abundance when she connects and builds that trust with her new owner.
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered for adoption; however, you must be able to drive with your family to meet Ginny. If for any reason she doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing her back to Sydney or helping us rehome her from your home.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
