About Latisha
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- A yard for Latisha to do zoomies
- Patience to help her gain more confidence when out walking
- Children over 8 yrs
Lovely Latisha is a striking girl, super happy, very sweet and her fur is oh so soft to pat. Tish has embraced life in foster care and is now looking for her forever home.
Tisha’s favourite things are toys, food, zooming, checking out what is happening and hanging out. Tish sleeps through the night currently in the family room, is very happy to travel in the car, and enjoys hanging out whatever you might be doing around the home. As mentioned, she loves her toys, eating is her favourite sport, and she really enjoys sniffing all the smells outside. She is very bright and quick to learn boundaries, such as not getting on couches or beds, staying out of the kitchen, but can be cheeky, sometimes creeping into the kitchen especially when her food is being prepared.
This girl does get excited when people come to the house and can forget to keep all four feet on the ground, but she soon settles down and is happy to be included in the conversation and get pats from all visiting humans, but she does love to stick her nose into people’s drinks – still a work in progress.
Latisha was blind in her left eye when she came into foster, and required eye drops every day, after a second visit to the eye specialist, there was of concern that going forward, pressure could build in her eye causing pain and an emergency. To avoid this Tish had her left eye removed. She has healed beautifully and has not needed to adjust in any way as she had no vision in her left eye – we are just waiting for her hair to fully regrow. Tish is a very happy dog who loves life, throwing toys up in the air chasing them around, zooming inside and outside several times a day and now just loves going for walks.
Latisha is a country girl, everything in suburbia was new to her, bikes, buses, trucks, rubbish bin trucks, first coming to foster care she lacked confidence, stalling when out on walks, this still happens occasionally, usually when we turn for home now, but the offer of a treat gets her bouncing forward. She would be happy walking for hours with her tail high in the air excited to sniff all the smells and even say hi to other dogs that are out and about. She is a very good girl around all other dogs and is happy to give them a friendly sniff and then continue on her way.
Tish would enjoy living with another greyhound or other breed dog to have a companion to play with. Currently she is fostered as a single dog and is perfectly fine. Latisha is such a sticky beak, she would be well suited to a busy family with dog savvy older children and lots going on, or active retired folk, really people that are around more than not or happy to take her with them. Living with Latisha has times that are calm, but also times for zooming, toy throwing, bouncing around and generally enjoying life.
If you are looking for a happy active, super soft, one eyed doggo who looks like a cute mini tiger - she’s the girl for you!
