About Dixon
Hi, how's it going?
Okay the rescue has said I need to tell you about myself - ooooh that's very scary as I'm not a huge one for all the attention and spotlight but here goes.............
My foster mum says I'm beautiful boy but I am very timid when meeting new people.
I am a 1 year and 6 month old Toy Poodle - My foster mum says I'm a light little one who weighs no more then 4.2 kgs despite what i eat!
I'm looking for a home where I can settle beautifully and be given the time and space to settle.
My foster mum says I am absolutely beautiful and the people who I fall in love with will be the most amazing humans for me.
I have come into care from a breeder, she was concerned that my shy nature would not be understood and she wanted the rescue to ensure that the best home for me was found.
I can be a little nervous on first meeting some people and I’m not a fan of lots of noise etc.... I think a nice calm home for me sounds perfect.
I have spent my life with other dogs and while I am submissive, i would very much like to go to a home with another small breed who will want to play with me and let me follow their lead bringing out my confidence over time.
I currently live with some other dogs and once I'm comfortable I love to play with them (I'm used to Maltese, Shih Tzu, French bulldogs, pugs, Cavalier King Charles and other Poodles)
My foster mum says I am a timid, quiet little boy who is slowly trusting humans but put a lead on me and tell me it's walk time I will strut my stuff and happily go for walk after walk with you.
I am good around kids but not keen on kids who are loud or full of energy so maybe a home with kids over 10 would be perfect for me.
I would like to spend my days with living inside and having access to outside (mainly for a play, run around and a good sniff around) I like to be able to come in and out at my leisure.
My foster mum works from home and i love to hang out sleeping in her office while she works, or following around my foster fur siblings. While I am okay with being home alone for periods of time (I usually just snooze) I am wanting a home where I can be with my humans (either work from home, retired, shift workers, don't need to work etc etc)
When I'm comfortable and you come home, you will see me jump up and down at the front door - my foster mum laughs as she says all she can see if a head one second and gone the next and then repeat!
I am fine with cats - I have lived with one before - I was very curious when I first met but after a few days was not as interested.
I love to sleep on the bed with my humans or at least another dog bed in the room with my fur sibling if they will let me. I do snooze on the couch or dog beds thru the day.
My foster mum and dad have tried many different treats to see if that will help me, but they have said treats aren't a big deal for me, but when I stayed with the director of the rescue for a weekend she gave me a milky treat (or three) and I liked them!
I am toilet trained
I have a coat that does require grooming. I will need grooms so that my coat stays looking good so please keep this in mind when applying as it’s an ongoing expense.

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/
Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
