Hey there! I'm Josie! I have a heart full of love and a spirit that's as warm as my snuggles.

I was surrendered because my owners were no longer able to handle me, which confuses me since I'm as gentle as they come! I was very shut down and nervous when I first came into the shelter, unsure of where I was and my future. But after some patience and kindness with the attendants here I'm learning that the world isn't such a scary place, and I think I'm ready to take the next big step and find my forever home!

Even though I've been a brave girl these past few months, I can be a little bit of a stressy bessie- especially in new situations. But that's nothing that some affection and patience can't fix! A quiet home that'll be able to spend time with me and give me reassurance would be a dream come true, but more importantly, a place where I can feel safe and cherished.

A home where I'm the only pet in the home would be best, as other dogs and animals spook me with their quick movements. Because of this I'm very unsure about smaller children, and would need to go home to older kids or adults only.

If you come down to the shelter you'll see that I'm the queen of big ol' puppy eyes! I guarantee that you'll be sneaking me extra treats under the table in no time- who can say no to my adorable face? Speaking of treats, it's the fastest way to my heart! Just a few tasty schmackos and kind words and I'll be cuddling into your lap in no time.

When I'm feeling extra affectionate (which is ALWAYS) I love to lean my whole body into you and bury my head into your lap. Because of my bigger size I have a tendency to completely bowl you over demanding for more cuddles, so be prepared for a whole lotta lovin'!
