Hello! My name is Merlin 🧙♂️
I’m an outgoing, confident and friendly young lad who is ready to find his purfect family. I love to play, and eat, and sleep, and eat some more, and give kisses. A good soak in the sun is a pastime I’m also coming to enjoy, but my favourite sleep spot is on my foster mum and cuddled up to my foster brother Marvolo.
I’ll play with toys on my own, my foster kitten siblings, dogs or foster mum. I have a very well rounded personality and am quick to adjust so I’ll suit any home.
I’m a heart thief, so expect to fall in love with me very quickly. My foster mum did and I almost wasn’t available for adoption! (Her cat isn’t too keen on me staying though, so with a heavy heart she’s going to help me find my home).
My Ideal Home:
I’ll fit in anywhere. I’d love a friend or two to keep me company while the humans are away so I don’t get lonely. But with the right enrichment, I will learn that a bit of alone time isn’t the worst if you don’t have any furry family members already.
😉😉 My foster brother Marvolo is also available for adoption, we’ve become fast BFFs and if you’re looking at getting two kittens, we’re a magical pair! 🪄

How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
I’m good with all the people and animals I’ve met so far! I’ve met busy toddlers, whose stompy feet I watched before approaching, but within 30min of their arrival I was letting them cuddle me.
I love my foster kitten siblings, even when they were too sure of me to start, I persisted calmly and now we are great friends. I’m even still trying to win over the resident adult cat, it’s not going well but I’m not the give up type!
I also like the two giant dogs in my house, I use them as big hot water bottles and when they offer a bath, I accept without fear (I can fit in their mouths but I know they are gentle). The bath my foster mum gives after though I don’t love.. apparently slobber isn’t a good form of cleaning 🤷

Adoption details
Applicants will be required to complete and submit an Adoption form from https://www.hunteranimalrescue.com.au
HAR uses the details in this form to select the most appropriate family for our animals. This form allows us to get to know you, your home, your family, lifestyle and level of experience with pets.
Adoptions are NOT approved on a first come first served basis. The adoption process can be lengthy by the time we process all expressions of interest.
HAR Adoption Process
1- Carer will assess and arrange a meet and greet with suitable applicants.
2- If the meet and greet is successful, a yard/home inspection is conducted.
3- If your yard/home passes inspection, the adoption fee is paid, paperwork completed and a 2 week trial period is arranged.
4- On successful completion of the trial period HAR will submit paperwork to Local Council for processing.
Adoption fee includes:- mandatory de-sexing, microchip, vaccination, vet check, flea and worm treatment.
