About Reign
So before you apply I have to ask you two questions
One – do you want a dog that is like Velcro – I do have some separation anxiety in a new environment but over time I will settle, feel secure and just be the bestest. I can stick to my human like Velcro and don’t have a problem following you anywhere you go.
And second question do you like to snuggle close and often? If the answer is yes to both of these – keep reading!!
My name is Reign and I am a 9 month old Cocker Spaniel who loves to be with his humans and loves to just be a part of the family.
I am looking for a home where there is a lap spare for me to sit on / lay on / lay over / stand on anytime / you know just be close to him. I am even happy to share your work chair with you if you work from home. Or a bed close to your desk while you work – I am happy to snooze nearby.
I do still of course have some bursts of energy thru the day and evening and that is when a walk is a good idea or some play time and then of course the follow up cuddle and snuggle time!
I came into care from a private surrender due to personal reasons for them.
My foster mums says I currently weigh 11.2kgs
I am learning lead training but love the thought of you and me spending time together walking as one I love to be with you. I also love to smell everything as we walk it's really a very social activity for me. I also have been learning how to sit (if prompted) before crossing the road – look at me go!!!
I love to play with toys and if you leave your socks anywhere I’m very happy to play with them as well!
I have lived with other dogs before and do fine with one or two but too many can be a bit overwhelming for me. The rescue has been working with me that when I’m with other dogs i can't simply walk over them to get my humans or give a little growl when they want to go on my foster mum's lap. I am currently in a foster carer home with no other dogs but that is not a prerequisite, my foster mum regularly has her mum's border collie visit. My foster mum says cause I'm still only a baby and learning.
I am not tested on cats and my foster mum says it really could go either way
I have been around kids and cause I'm still young and excitable on something I can accidentally knock them over, squish them, but a 10 year old boy I hung out with for some testing was fine with me/
As i am still young I would love a home where someone either works from home, retired, shift workers etc etc etc someone that i can hang out with, work with me on my training and just generally be my 'buddy'
I do have lovely manners (but as I’m still young sometimes my foster mum says my ears distract me but we are working on it! I do know how to sit for a treat! Food is definitely a good motivator!
When I first came into care I was very nervous and drolly when going in the car, I am getting better but still can be a bit hesitant getting in and may need a little help getting into the car.
My foster mum says I have a typical Cocker Spaniel coat and do require regular grooming and brushing - especially the ears!
So if you think I sound like your type of fur friend please send in an application to the rescue!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
