About Memphis
I'm Memphis, 8 yo Labrador cross beagle , a petite 20kg mature lady.
I came into Tailsoftheforgottenpawsau.org.au care 2 mths ago when my human fled a domestic violence situation, and left me at the pound.
I have clean health from the vet , great dental hygiene and have ideal weight with excellent coat thanks to healthy lifestyle & diet since I've been with my foster family.
Im now looking for my forever retirement home , one that can provide me with safety love and happiness. And also maintaining my healthy lifestyle as recommended by the vet *see my special needs note* I want to be a part of your family , not a dog thats left 8 to 10 hrs a day alone at home. That would be very lonely life for me. I'm a social lady I love making friends eventhough I can be shy at first that's just My gentle personality ☺️ 😌
Did You Know ? I'm so good at swimming. I love swimming. Not when there are no waves though....when the water is calm I love swimming. My foster family took me to the beach ⛱️ and I loved it
I'm polite and friendly with other calm friendly dogs . Good with leash walking and 100% house trained. My fav time is when my foster Mum & dad are on the couch lounging for the night, I get cuddles and belly rubs .
I don't mind being the only dog in the house . I'm not fuss. Very easy going personality as long as I get to spend my days with my humans I'm happy.
I loveeeee having road trips too. Car Rides here and there.
I'm a well rounded well adjusted mature lady not for the dog parks running around with 100s dogs but more for the relax low key lifestyle.
4 things I asked from you please, should you want to welcome me into your family
1. No stairs
2. Hide all the food and the bins from me , I have Labrador genes I cannot control and I tend to be cheeky when no one is home
3. Keep me indoor. I'm an indoor girl and very house trained. If you have a dog door I'll learn to use it for my toilet breaks
4. Look after my health for the rest of my life. I'm already 8yo and with 1 bad elbow *see notes on my special needs and why I have bad elbow*
The noise of pots and pans and plates hitting each other really scares me , this reminds me of my previous environment 💔
Can I live in an apartment? Yes I can. As I'm currently being fostered in a ground floor apartment with its own veranda/courtyard . But I must avoid going up and down the stairs it's not good for my joints.
How about being around children?
I'm like gentle dog savy children as I am a mature lady I prefer gentle interactions

ℹ️Vet history from Progressive Vet Care will be provided as usual all adoptions from our charity comes with all supplies for the dog , enough for the first 2 months post adoption, this incld food, bed, bowls, toys, collar leash, jacket, etc.
Adoption also incld 2 to 3 post adoption visits by our case manager , to ensure both dog and adopter are supported and going well during transition period.
Our charity also provide lifetime support to all adopters through our WhatsApp support group available 24 7.
Medical notes
No Current Medical illness.
Memphis came from a domestic violence background as her human fled to safety she was left at a pound. Memphis came into care with an old fracture on the front right elbow so she has a slight limp when walking
NOTE: This has not and does not impact her overall quality of life .
We xray her elbow and looks like the old fracture didn't heal properly unfortunately because it's very old corrective surgery is not an option due to nerves growing around it .
Because of this Memphis requires low impact activities and MUST avoid hiking, climbing /jumping or walking on steep hill
As all These high impact activities can aggravate her right elbow and cause inflamation/flare up and pain.
Vet has cleared her health with no medication needed. Just the right lifestyle & Healthy diet , maintaining her weight between 19kg to 20kg to avoid aggravating her bad elbow.
The Only supplement she needs daily is ANTINOL RAPID to help care for her joints

Adoption details
We have a mandatory house inspection
Shortlisted adopters will be contacted to arrange a meet & greet with the animal. **Depending on our foster's availability
We do follow-ups throughout the life of the animal
In the event that you are unable to care for the animal anymore, you must contact us to seek verbal advice
Some animals will require mandatory enrollment to professional training/behaviorist - this will be noted on the animal's profile & adoption agreement, we will require proof of enrollment before we are able to complete the adoption process/transfer of ownership
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
