About Rah
Meet Rah: Your Future Loyal Companion
Say hello to Rah, our charming 9-year-old purebred Chihuahua!
Rah has had quite a journey before finding his way to our rescue.
Rah has an almost Royal Bloodline we are told (but that comes with zero importance to us)
Previously used solely for breeding, he's now ready to enjoy his golden years in a loving forever home.
At 4kg, Rah is a bigger Chihuahua, which means there's even more of him to love!
Rah has undergone surgery to remove a benign tumour and has been desexed and fully vetted.
Personality and Preferences: Social Butterfly: A happy and friendly little man, Rah gets along well with female dogs but would prefer a home without male dogs.
His Breeding past has meant he has been kept isolated from other male dogs, so he is threatened by them.
Cat Coexistence: He has lived with cats before, but he might chase if the cat isn't dog-savvy.
Kid-Free Zone: Due to his age and occasional old man grumpiness, Rah is probably not suitable for homes with very young children.
He has been in pain for several years – he is now pain free but is just getting comfortable with understanding that and is relaxing much more.
Food Guarding: Due to his history, he can still be a little bit protective over his food, so a calm and understanding environment is best for him.
Loving Companion: Despite his quirks, Rah is a calm little man who loves nothing more than being right by your side.
He’s also a big fan of outings and car rides!
If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share your days with, Rah might be the perfect match for you.
Come meet him and see if he’s the one you’ve been looking for!
He is in foster care at Arana Hills Zillmere and his adoption fee is $450.
We do ask that if you would like to meet Rah you send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the amazing life he could share with you.
We’re happy to discuss his health needs in more detail with potential adopters to ensure he gets the best care possible but in a nutshell the tumour was benign and slow growing so will just need watching for any sign of regrowth. An annual vet check will be ample.

At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
