About Frankie & Wolf - 1 & 2 Year Old Dachshund (Trial)
Miniature Dachshund dynamic duo Frankie and Wolf are ready to move onto the next chapter of their story, with their new forever family. 1 year old female Frankie, the stunning tan dapple and her trusty partner in fun, black and tan nearly 2 year old male Wolf are the best company for each other, for people and other small dogs.
Typical dachshunds, they love to be around people, Frankie the quieter of the two, is the thinker, whereas Wolf wears his heart on his sleeve, when he sees you his whole-body wags and he cries with delight. Frankie is the more independent soul who is happy to sunbake by herself or snuggle up to Wolf or with you on the sofa. Personal space is not in Wolf’s vocabulary, he will be your shadow, you’ll never be lonely with Wolf, he’s always ready to follow you from room to room. He’s especially hopeful and helpful in the kitchen and will happily munch away on the crunchy vegetable end bits he’s given.
You’ll always be entertained with your dynamic duo, they love playing with each other, or chasing a ball or any stuffed toys you’d like to throw for them. Returning them to you is a work in progress. They love a walk and are pretty good walking on lead. They’re excited to discover new smells and they enjoy getting out and about, Frankie can be cautious about new things, and is the more vocal of the two on walks. They’re also great with other dogs, they spent a week with 4 other dachshunds and got on great with them. They’re not keen on cats and would prefer to chase them rather than make friends. We would recommend a home without pocket pets. They are not big barkers but will alert you if there’s a knock at your door.
Best with kids over 12 years old as Wolf can be protective and doesn’t like the unpredictable nature of young children. Wolf and Frankie prefer their people to be home for company more often than not and they must be allowed to be inside whenever they want.
Like most Dachshunds they’re not keen on wet grass and cold mornings. They sleep in their own bed together snuggling under the blankets. They’re toilet trained, can use a doggy door and a Dachshund ramp, they’re learning recall and can sit for a treat.
Adoption fee is $1,500 for the dynamic duo. They come vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, treated for worms and fleas. They are currently in foster care in Woollahra, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. They are available for adoption within NSW and ACT. No flights.
