About Johnnie
Are you ready to welcome an energetic and intelligent bundle of love into your life? Meet Johnnie!
Johnnie came to our vet clinic as a hit and run victim and sadly lost his back leg as a result. Despite this tragic start Johnnie's indomitable spirit has shone through as he flew through his treatment and rehab with flying colours. Everyone who meets Johnnie falls in love with his gentle kisses and silly wormy wiggles.
This cheeky lad is learning fast how to get around on 3 legs with the help of weekly hydrotherapy sessions, zipping around and spreading joy wherever he goes. His dedicated foster carers are head over heels for his sweet personality, and it's easy to see why.
This social butterfly is still learning how to play nicely with other dogs. Due to his injury during his crucial socialization phase, he can sometimes be a bit too boisterous, like a clumsy puppy at a china shop. With continued socialization and training, Johnnie has the potential to become the perfect gentleman of the dog park.
While Johnnie's amputation might have temporarily impacted his ability to run around like a normal puppy it hasn't slowed him down when it comes to learning. While in foster Johnnie has mastered 'sit' 'Lie down' 'shake' and 'touch' with the right owner the sky is the limit.
Johnnie initially struggled with the 3- legged life and will need an owner committed to continuing his rehab for as long as is needed. With proper care Johnnie will live a long happy life with his new family.
Imagine a playful, curious explorer, always ready to embark on new adventures - that's Johnnie! If he's not given enough mental and physical stimulation, he'll find his own fun, and trust us, his idea of fun can turn your garden into a lunar landscape!
Note: This dog is currently being cared for in a home and when adopted, it will free up a spot to help another dog.
