About Fenty
Meet Fenty,
About: Fenty is a big lovable, sweet girl. She is gentle despite her size & is learning how to be more confident. She is quite nervous when you first meet her, but deep down she is friendly, curious and affectionate. She desperately wants to be social & make friends (both human & dog) but her timidity holds her back from her true potential.
Fenty is best suited to someone who has experience in doggo ownership & is also best suited to live in a calm, quiet household as she is sensitive to loud noises as they can startle her.
Ideal Home: Fenty is best suited to live in a house, with a medium to large yard & high secure fencing.
Access to inside the home is important for this cuddly girl, so that she can feel safe & feel like apart of a family.
Family: Fenty is open to meet kids from 6 years & up. Reason for this is simply because of her nervous nature. Kids would need to understand that Fenty just needs a little bit of time to settle before becoming their best friends.
Fenty is also fine to live with people who work full-time.
Furry Friends: Fenty is open to meet other dogs. During her dog assessment Fenty showed that she was initially stressed from a distance but at the distance closed Fenty relaxed and offered a few play bows. Fenty really wanted to interact but her nervous nature really got in the way of her being able to commit 100%. With a slow, gradual introduction & a confidence boost Fenty would be able to make dog friends in no time.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Fenty would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Fenty would benefit from post-adoption training, such as training as home to cover basic commands/obedience. Fenty is not confident in new environments or when meeting new people but with patience and the right encouragement she is able to adapt quickly to new places & new faces. We are hoping that her new owner will be comfortable in providing Fenty with positive socialisation to help Fenty gain confidence.
Fenty is still learning her name, but she knows how to 'sit' & has shown us that she is also a quick learner. Fenty is also food motivated so having treats on hand during training sessions would be an excellent idea.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Fenty has medium energy levels and she would benefit from exercise, walks or playtime from 20-30mins a day to keep her happy. Fenty is not interested in toys, she prefers human interaction.
Fenty walks ok on a lead but does pull - so she is best walked on a martingale.
Staff Comments: Fenty can get a bit stressed in this environment but she is very sweet once she settles. She is a quick learner with basic obedience.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
