About Ripley
Meet Ripley,
Ripley is looking for a home with a family who is patient and kind. Someone who will show him there is no need to be afraid of humans.
Ripley spent the first weeks of his life on the streets and didn’t have much interaction with people before coming to the facility but we have worked hard on his confidence & feel that he is at a stage where he can be adopted providing his new family are committed to growing his confidence. Ripley came in with his sister Rhea (ID: 11315) and he seems to be the more confident of the two.
Ripley gets excited when he sees you coming towards his condo, however when you open it he will retreat to the safety of his bed. However, he does become quite interested in toys if you have some on hand to offer him to play with. You'll witness him lower his guard a little & give you insight into the cat he has potential to be!
Ripley would be best suited to a calm and quiet household, or at least an have an area of the home that is just his, where he can retreat to if things get a bit too much.
Ripley should be strictly indoors. Reason for this is due to his timidity. Going outside may undo all the progress he has made since coming into our care. The outside world is big & can be very scary for a small kitten and having him outside will increase the risk of him running away, getting lost, injured or worse.
Just like all kittens, Ripley would love a cat tree to climb on and scratch, and an assortment of toys to play with. He should be fed kitten food multiple times a day to ensure that he grow up big and strong.
Ripley is already litter trained, but it’s best to show him where the litter tray is when you get home to minimise any accidents.
If you’ve got other animals at home, that’s okay, just make sure that they have a slow introduction.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.

The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
The adoption fee for cats covers F3 vaccination, health check, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
