About Rhea
Meet Rhea,
Rhea is looking for a home with a family who is patient and kind. Someone who will show her there is no need to be afraid of humans.
Rhea spent the first weeks of her life on the streets and didn’t have much interaction with people before coming to the facility but we have worked hard on her confidence & feel that she is at a stage where she can be adopted providing her new family are committed to growing her confidence. Rhea came in with her brother Ripley (ID: 11314) but she appears to be the less confident of the two.
Rhea appears really curious when she sees you coming towards her condo, however when you open it she will retreat to the safety of her bed. She is very sweet & needs a caring, patient & kind owner.
Rhea would be best suited to a calm and quiet household, or at least an have an area of the home that is just hers, where she can retreat to if things get a bit too much for her.
Rhea should be strictly indoors. Reason for this is due to her timidity. Going outside may undo all the progress she has made since coming into our care. The outside world is big & can be very scary for a small kitten and having her outside will increase the risk of her running away, getting lost, injured or worse.
Just like all kittens, Rhea would love a cat tree to climb on and scratch, and an assortment of toys to play with. She should be fed kitten food multiple times a day to ensure that she grow up big and strong.
Rhea is already litter trained, but it’s best to show her where the litter tray is when you get home to minimise any accidents.
If you’ve got other animals at home, that’s okay, just make sure that they have a slow introduction.
Can you open your heart and home to a shy kitty like Rhea?

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
