Jasper and Buttons💖(Buttons on Trial 28/7/24)

Delightful Duo Jasper and Buttons will light up your life🌞! They are happy, healthy, playful and just plain adorable. Jasper is an 8yo, male, Chihuahua and Buttons is a 6yo, female, Chihuahua. They are affectionate and love to sit on your lap and enjoy lots of cuddles.

Because they keep each other company, they’re fine home alone. They’re ideal for someone who works full-time. You’ll always come home to a big greeting and lots of love. They’d also suit retired people looking to add a spark of joy to their home.

Though they’re middle-aged they’re active and playful. They both like to chase a ball or soft toy. Buttons (long, white coat) is super-fast and usually beats Jasper (short, black coat) to the toy. She will bring it back and wait for you to throw it again and again.

They love going for walks and walk beautifully on harness and lead. Buttons is cautious and likes to stay by your side, and Jasper is confident and trots happily along in front.

They’re inside dogs and needs to be welcome inside and to sleep inside. They’re housetrained. They’re good in the car 🚗. They aren’t nuisance barkers but will let you know when someone comes to your door.

They are used to living with other small dogs and get along well with them. They haven’t spent much time with children but they’re gentle and not nippy. Because Jasper and Buttons are middle-aged, they’re not best suited to a busy household with children under 12 but they’d be fine with young visitors. They haven’t been tested with cats but if you have a cat and would like us to test them we can arrange it.

Jasper has very cute black and white markings, almost like a teeny-tiny Husky. I think the white tip of his waggy tail is especially cute. Buttons has a long, white coat with distinctive long fringes on her back legs. Both dogs’ coats are very soft and smooth. They just need some brushing and a bath every now and again.

Jasper is a bit of a chunky monkey at 6.5kgs and Buttons is a slim lady at 5.2kgs. Small dogs like these often live to 16 years old, so they still have half their lives ahead of them! They were reluctantly surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle from a loving home.

• will take them for a walk most days
• will throw a ball for them
• will let them inside and on laps.

Jasper and Buttons are in foster care in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). They’re available for adoption to the east coast states but you will need to come meet them and drive them back with you.

The adoption fee is $700 for the pair and they’re desexed, recently vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and registered.
