About Rocco
Rocco is an exuberant 1-year and 1-month-old Golden Retriever and Poodle mix, bursting with energy and love. With his bright eyes and playful demeanor, Rocco is on the lookout for a family who will welcome him into their home and hearts. Having spent his life outdoors, Rocco dreams of becoming an integral part of a family, enjoying the warmth and comfort of inside life.
This spirited young dog is well-suited for a household with children aged 5 and older, who will love having a furry friend to play with in the backyard. Rocco thrives on companionship and would be thrilled to have kids who enjoy spending time outside, playing fetch, and exploring the world together.
Though Rocco is a bundle of joy, he will benefit from training to help him develop good manners and become the best companion he can be. With patience and consistency, Rocco will quickly learn and adapt, eager to please his new family.
Rocco's gorgeous coat will require grooming every few weeks to keep him looking his best. His Golden Retriever and Poodle heritage means that regular grooming is essential to maintain his health and appearance.
One of Rocco's standout qualities is his love for other dogs. He gets along splendidly with canine companions and would be overjoyed to have a doggy sibling to share his new home with. His sociable nature ensures that he will quickly become a beloved member of any household, bringing joy and laughter with his playful antics.
Rocco is a lovely young boy with a heart full of love, ready to find a home where he can grow, play, and be cherished. If you're looking for a bright-eyed, affectionate dog who will bring endless happiness to your life, Rocco is the perfect choice.
PLEASE NOTE: Like many large breed dogs, Rocco has been diagnosed with the potential to develop hip dysplasia in the future. Many dogs are not overtly affected by this problem.
To book a meet and greet with Rocco please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
